Visaginas Ukrainian society

Date of creation: September 24, 1992.
Purposes and tasks:
- To unite people interested in the Ukrainian culture,
- To transfer traditions to children,
- To encourage the study of the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian cultural traditions,
- To study the joint history of Lithuania and Ukraine,
- Legal and social help to the members of the society,
- Creation of material base for the activity.
Kinds of activity:
- Organizing Sunday school for children,
- Providing text-books and methodical literature,
- Supporting the activity of the ensemble of Ukrainian songs and dance "Kalina",
- Organizing excursions creative trips around Lithuania,
- Giving consultations on visa and some legal questions (using the help of the Embassy of Ukraine in Lithuania),
- Participating in the work of the state association of Ukrainian organizations,
- Participating in the town public life, in the activity of VCPD.
