Russian society "Sadko"

The Russian society "Sadko" in Visaginas is a voluntary public organization uniting people on the basis of study, development and distribution of the Russian culture.
Among the organizers and founders of the society there are: the teacher of the art school of the House of children's creativity; the leaders of Russian folklore groups "Zhavoronok" and "Bylina";
The leader of the choir of the Orthodox Church of John the Baptist's Birth;
Vocal trio of the teachers of Visaginas musical school;
The leader of children's dancing group "Rodnichok";
The icon-painter of the Orthodox Church.
The basic purpose: to enable an opportunity for creative groups to show themselves in the cultural sphere of life in the community, to keep and enrich cultural traditions of people.
Kinds of activity: the creative groups which leaders are the members of the Russian society "Sadko" constantly take part in local, state and international musical festivals. The choir of the Orthodox Church of John the Baptist's Birth is the winner of the international festival of spiritual music in the city Hainuvka (Poland). Folklore groups "Bylina" and "Zhavoronok" are active participants and winners of folklore festivals in Lithuania and abroad. The dancing group "Rodnichok" is a winner of state competitions and festivals.
The icon-painter Î.Kirichenko works on the project of interior decoration in orthodox churches. He is the author of an art album " Icons in orthodox churches " and carries out enlightening work.
The artists living in Visaginas and teachers from School of national crafts in the House of children's creativity take part in the work of the society.
